Why did you choose the GRS specializations that you did?
I’ve always wanted to spend my life helping people, and global health is the perfect blend of my academic interests and the desire to have a positive impact on the world around me. As I learn more about the world we live in, it becomes clearer and clearer to me that health inequity lies at the nexus of so many interwoven societal issues, and that working to resolve these issues will take creativity, empathy, and dedication. The prospect of living in a world where health inequity does not exist is exciting and motivating to me!
Where did you travel to (or where are you going) for your international experience(s)?
I’m not sure yet! It would be awesome to do a directed studies experience in the US or South America to study and compare medical systems and people’s interactions with them.
What do you like best about the GRS program?
I love being in a community of diverse thinkers. Every GRS student brings a different set of interests and experiences to the table, and it is so special to be able to learn from and with each other.
What year do you expect to graduate?
