Meet the Participation Requirement

You need at least 5 online participation credits to pass each term of GRS.  The deadline is midnight of the last day of exams, December 21, 2014.  Participation credits can come from:
  • Creating a blog with an About/Bio page (new students)*
  • Responding to questions/comments on the class discussion board**
  • Posting on your own blog about GRS related topics (see “What to Blog About“)
  • Commenting on the blogs of your peers***
Once you have a blog set up, your remaining credits can come from any combination of these online activities.
*Once you have a blog, be sure to send Brent  the link (lfs.grs@ubc.ca).  You must have some form of content on your blog for it to count.  An “About” or “Bio” page describing yourself is a great way to start.  Take a look at this blog for an example of a great “About” page. **This requires a you to set up a profile with UBC sites.  An invitation was sent out in September.  If your invitation has expired, please contact Brent  at lfs.grs@ubc.ca. ASAP. ***These are slowly being uploaded to the site and should all be up by the end of classes.  If you want to get credit for commenting on one of your classmate’s blogs, you must send the link to Brent  (lfs.grs@ubc.ca). If you have any issues, first visit the “How to…” pages, and if that doesn’t provide the answer you need, then contact Brent  at lfs.grs@ubc.ca.  Please do not wait until the deadline to get started as it can take a day or two to work through technical difficulties.
