Hungry4Change
Oxfam UBC invites you to join us at Hungry4Change, a unique and informative banquet fundraiser at Heritage Hall, located at 3102 Main street, on Thursday, 11 March, 2010.
The event promises to be an enjoyable evening of good company and good music, with a focus on climate change and its impact on global food insecurity. Guests will have the opportunity to hear from three guest speakers: from Vij’s and Rangoli restaurants (2 of Vancouver’s most reknowned restaurants)- Meeru Dhalwala and her head chef, Amarjeet Gill, and from your very own faculty- Professor Alejandro Rogas! The keynotes will share their knowledge and experience with food security, both globally and locally.
All proceeds support the work of Oxfam Canada, an NGO that works with local and global allies to build lasting solutions to global poverty and injustice and which has recently undertaken an extensive campaign addressing climate change and human rights.
Tickets are only $20 for students and may be purchased at http://www.hungry4change.r ezgo.com
Please show your support for some of your fellow GRS’ers (Foster and Rosalind) who have been in charge of organizing the event. Hope to see you all there!
