Annually, the UBC Student Leadership Conference (SLC) is a venue for student leaders to gather, share and learn. We are currently recruiting outstanding students to serve as Co-Chairs (2), Portfolio Directors (7) and Coordinators (12) to envision, plan and execute the 2011 SLC. If you know of an outstanding student who would be interested in one of these roles, please encourage them review position descriptions found on the Student Leadership Conference Website.
Co-Chair Position Summary:
The Co-Chairs will lead the UBC Student Leadership Conference, organizing and managing all aspects of the conference. The main responsibilities of the Co-Chairs will be to implement a strategic conference vision, and to plan and guide the engagement of the planning team and the campus community in that vision. In addition to planning the conference, the chairpersons will provide strong leadership in the selection, orientation, and mentoring of the SLC planning committee. The successful applicants will evaluate and determine the division of responsibilities between co-chairs after the selection process is completed, in partnership with the advisory group and the past co-chairs.
Director Position Summary:
The SLC is a venue for student leaders from across our campus to gather, share and learn. As a part of the executive committee, the SLC Portfolio Directors will assist the Co-Chairs in various aspects of planning the conference. Directors will oversee one portfolio: Communications, Finance, Human Resources, Programs (Plenary or Concurrent), Media or Logistics. In general, the responsibilities of the SLC Director will be to utilize their strong leadership skills to strategically implement the vision of the conference, working with and guiding a team of Coordinators to achieve portfolio tasks.
Coordinator Position Summary:
The SLC is a venue for student leaders from across our campus to gather, share and learn. As a part of the SLC planning committee, the SLC Coordinators will assist the Directors and the SLC Executive Team in specific portfolio tasks, ensuring that the vision of the conference is achieved.

Successful candidates selected for an interview will be asked to provide both a cover letter and two (2) references at the beginning of their interview. Additionally, candidates for the Artistic Coordinator are asked to bring an artistic portfolio or samples of previous work.
