Volunteer with BC Children's Hospital - Global Resource Systems

Volunteer Resources provides support for BC Children’s Hospital, BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children. The Department is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and assignment of volunteers for a variety of patient and service-based areas within the three facilities. The vision is to improve the health of children, youth and women by working with partners, including community partners like volunteers, to ensure access to the best health care in the best setting. At each of the facilities, volunteers contribute greatly to the hospital experience of families. Volunteer Requirements

must be 16 years of age
able to attend an orientation training session
be in good physical and mental health
current immunizations up to date
are able to make a 12 month commitment
return a completed application form to volunteer resources
provide two references
sign an Pledge of Confidentiality
submit to a Criminal Record Check
For applications to Children’s or Sunny Hill, paid or volunteer experience with children is required
