Location: Vancouver, BC (downtown)
Start Date: December 1, 2008
Terms: $12/hr, 24 hours/week; Four month contract, with possibility of extension
Responsibilities
• Take a leading role for a local school garden project
• Act as a liaison between garden project stakeholders
• Plan and facilitate garden activities and workshops
• Update and prepare website, organizational literature and documents
• Coordinate volunteer activities and recruitment
• Seek and manage outreach events in promotion of EYA
• Assist in fundraising activities
• Provide general support to EYA staff
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge base of environmental and social justice issues
• A commitment to building youth capacity and healthy communities
• Experience working with children and youth
• Gardening/Horticulture/Landscaping experience
• Strong writing and public speaking skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
