UBC Sprouts‘ new initiative, Seedlings Cafe, is off to a great start with delicious food and friendly faces. They are looking for more volunteers to help out around the cafe, and I hear they’ll feed you a free meal in exchange for your time. Click here for more information on volunteering.
“Seedlings is a cafe and eatery located on the top floor of the Thea Koerner Graduate Centre in the North West corner of campus, near the rose garden. The cafe specializes in raw, vegan, and healthy vegetarian cuisine all of which is organic, as locally sourced as is feasible, and fair-trade (when applicable). In addition to specialized coffees such as lattes and cappuccinos, we have a wide selection of artisan teas. Our menu includes a selection of raw vegan entrées such as quinoa bowls, raw cookies, “noodle” bowls and more. As a 100% student volunteer-run organization, prices are kept affordable. The spacious, yet cozy, space includes a wrap-around balcony and large bay windows, making it a perfect place to come sip a fair-trade, organic 75 cent coffee and watch the rain while studying or just hanging out. See you there!”
